AVANT-GARDE FILM REVIEW

Wavelength (Michael Snow, 1967)

I watched both the 42 minute, pretty much 43 minutes, and a sped up 3 minute version.
Definitely preferred the shorter version not solely for the fact that it was shorter but I liked
the overlapping clips and how it affected the colors in each of the clips. It allowed me to notice everything more and mostly I think thats just because of my attention span. I think most people would agree with though. Overall I enjoyed watching this film for the interesting colors and the final image of waves. The waves in the picture were clearly, well waves, they were moving. But since it was a photograph they were still but the film kept getting closer and closer which I thought was interesting.
